YP (Ages 11 to 16)

YP is the youth of TCCH. On Fridays we get together to chill out in the King’s Centre or have group socials elsewhere such as Crealy, cinema, paintballing and much more. On some Sundays, during the morning service, YP leave the main meeting to have their own time in which we study the Bible. We will be splitting the ages during these studies so that years 7 to 8 and years 9 to 11 get their own targeted teaching. Our main aim is to see our youth develop their relationship with God, mature in a healthy community and invite their friends along too. Every year in the summer we go to the Christian youth festival, Newday, in which we spend a week with God whilst camping.

6th Form (Ages 16 to 18)

The 6th form group, colloquially now known as BFG, bridges between YP and adult small group. We meet on a Wednesday evening in a small group setting where we hang out, learn about God and pray for one another.

What happens at Alpha?
Our Alpha course is a series of nine evenings held at the King’s Centre. Each evening consists of a free meal, a talk, coffee and discussion.

Who is it for?
Alpha is open to anyone wanting answers, newcomers to church or people exploring their faith. It is your opportunity to discuss what you’ve heard, share your views, and ask anything you like. No question is too simple or too aggressive.

Course Content
Below is the general content of the Alpha course although we can vary what actually happens:

Week 1 Who is Jesus?
Week 2 Why did Jesus Die?
Week 3 How can we have Faith?
Week 4 Why and how do I Pray?
Week 5 Why and how should I read the Bible?
Week 6 How does God Guide us?
Week 7 How can I Resist Evil?
Week 8 Why and how should I tell Others?
Week 9 Does God Heal Today?
Week 10 What about the Church?

Holy Spirit Day
Towards the end of the course we invite people on the Alpha course to take a day out on a weekend for a ‘Holy Spirit Day’ in which we spend some time looking at what the Holy Spirit actually is.

For more information, testimonies on the course and information on Alpha itself go to Alpha’s official website at alpha.org.

Making a difference for you
For many people today the church has no relevance when faced with everyday issues in life. It is our desire as a church that we not only love in words but also in action for the nations, but in the local community as well. We run several community projects in order for this to happen:

This very practical course is designed for any married couple who would like to enrich and strengthen their marriage.

Whether you have been married for a short while or many years it will provide you with opportunities to strengthen and reinforce your relationship.

Our desire as a church is to support prisoners and their families. We seek to do this by sharing the good news of Jesus with them both in word and in action. We have a team of people with many different gifts and skills who regularly come alongside prisoners and their families to care for them in very practical ways.

We serve our local community by offering free and discrete advice to help any in debt. We have a team of trained advisors, and an administrative support network to help clients work through the intense pressures that debt brings. Ignoring debt is the worst thing to do; help is available, please take it.

Why is it that when you get a new washing machine, it comes with instructions in fourteen different languages? But when you have a child, what do you get? Nothing!

Why not come along to an informal series of sessions where you can chat through common problems with other parents, and get some tips on how to survive? From pre-parenthood right through to grandparenthood, at home, at school or in the work place, Time Out For Parents is here to make life a little easier. Time Out For Parents provides a friendly, approachable and accessible source of advice, information and support for parents whenever they most need it. Time Out For Parents is a practical and down-to-earth resource that has been enjoyed by many parents who have attended courses since 2000.

A new 6 week course begins from Friday 17th September 2010

Venue: The Kings Centre, Lees Buildings, King Street, Honiton, EX14 1DH

£10 for a 6 week course. Refreshments and creche included.

We aim to restore the church by making disciples, training leaders, planting churches and reaching the nations.

First century churches were vibrant communities where each member had a valuable role. They cared for others both in the church and the wider society and were places where the Holy Spirit’s gifts were excitingly evident. We are passionately committed to restoring church life in line with these principles, for the benefit of our society.

With a passionate commitment to build the church according to New Testament principles, we believe that the most effective form of evangelism is worked out from strong local churches. In the churches the gifts of the Spirit are outworked, there is joy in caring one for the other, there is a desire to make a difference in society and an urgency to reach those in need. We aim to achieve this by:

The Community Church has a vision for a church that will make a difference in the heart of our communities, region and nations. We aim to do this by focusing on four particular priorities:

1. Loving God

We want to give Him the best of our time and energy to make Him known and bring Him glory.

2. Loving Each Other

We are convinced that one of the greatest needs of this generation is to build strong, supportive communities – our vision is to be such a community.

3. Loving Those Who Do Not Know Jesus

We are, building a church that prioritises others with the good news of Christ.

4. Going To The Nations

Our commission is to reach the ends of the earth, starting in Honiton.

We base ourselves on the values of Newfrontiers, a family of worldwide churches.
